Plastic Foundation and Plastic Frames

Wax Coated Plastic Foundation is the most durable foundation available. It is also the easiest to work with. Simply assemble the frame and snap in the foundation. No wiring, hooks, or pins needed. Wax Coated Plastic Foundation will not bend, break, or sag and burr comb or wax moth damage can be easily scraped off without damaging the foundation underneath. Wax Coated Plastic Foundation is made of injection molded plastic with preformed cells and a 100% pure beeswax coating for better acceptance by bees. Use with grooved wooden frames.

Wax Coated Plastic Foundation is available in black or white and two sizes:

8 3/8 inch foundation is used with 9 1/8 inch frames and 9 5/8 inch deep supers.

5 1/2 inch foundation is used with 6 1/4 inch frames and 6 5/8 inch supers.

Wax Coated Plastic Frames do not require any assembly or reinforcement. Wax Coated Plastic Frames have all the features that the plastic foundation has and then some. It will not bend, break, or sag and burr comb or wax moth damage can be easily scraped off without damaging the foundation underneath. Unlike wood frames plastic frames are much easier to separate when the bees glue them together with propolis. The frame and the foundation are one piece so the frame is thinner and just as strong as a wood frame. A smaller frame means the foundation area is larger, almost 15 percent larger than with a wooden frame. Wax Coated Plastic Frames are made of injection molded plastic with preformed frame and cells with a 100% pure beeswax coating.
